Beverly’s Criminal Law Experience
Beverly trained at GJC Law, under the Head Lawyer, Ms Gloria James, before she was called to the bar in 2017. Beverly has handled numerous criminal matters and has successfully mitigated a lower sentence for her clients in their respective proceedings.
She devote her time to her clients to understand the case and the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence(s) so that she can fully comprehend what had transpired and provide sound legal advice to the client on the best course of action.
When clients intend to plead guilty, Beverly represents them in plea bargaining with the Prosecution and ascertaining the sentencing position. She will also advise the client on the appropriate sentencing range based on past cases and the client’s circumstances. During the plead guilty mention, Beverly will zealously put forth mitigating factors to persuade the court to impose a lower sentence for the client.
Beverly has handled criminal matters such as insult to modesty “upskirt” cases, house trespass offences, property-related offences (eg. theft from dwelling), traffic offences and credit card fraud matters.
Beverly had also attended military court matters for clients who are regular servicemen / full-time national servicemen who are subjected to the Singapore Armed Forces Act under the Court Martial.
