    < 1 min read
Case reported in “The Straits Times” 20/4/2013

In 2010, Singapore Criminal Lawyer, Gloria James represented a woman who had accused her boyfriend, who was married to another woman, of raping her. This led to a police investigation where officers recorded statements from the woman and detained the man for investigation.

After the investigation, it was found to be consensual and she was charged and sentenced to two weeks in jail.

Defense counsel, Ms James, commented that by getting another person into trouble, you are looking at bigger trouble for yourself.
